also fun fact the deciding factor between us and Neanderthals wasn't intelligence or strength, they were better in both categories, but we could overhand throw and they couldn't due to shoulder structure

it's a lottery

2020-01-23 15:53:09 UTC

i would say that the ability to realise we're different from other animals, makes us not animals. because no other animal can do that. they can obviously see if we are smaller and/or bigger than them, but they don't realise we're a different species. im pretty sure there isn't a single species that knows we're human and they're not.

2020-01-23 15:54:02 UTC

how do you KNOW animals can't do that

2020-01-23 15:54:10 UTC

because there's studies on it

2020-01-23 15:54:15 UTC

take a study i read earlier on cats

2020-01-23 15:54:16 UTC

plenty of animals are more intelligent than us in some areas

2020-01-23 15:54:24 UTC

chimps have much better short term memory

2020-01-23 15:54:34 UTC

i have a cat, so there's this one where it says that cats think WE'RE cats

2020-01-23 15:54:36 UTC

or they're humans

2020-01-23 15:54:38 UTC

either way

2020-01-23 15:54:58 UTC

you can show them a series of ten or more digits for less than a second and they can press them in order

2020-01-23 15:55:03 UTC

that's wrong actually

2020-01-23 15:55:04 UTC

yep

2020-01-23 15:55:08 UTC

cats do meow to each other

2020-01-23 15:55:19 UTC

adult cats only meow to humans, they are imitating our vocal patterns

2020-01-23 15:55:19 UTC

but they do realise that we can't communicate to them in the same way

2020-01-23 15:55:30 UTC

but, they still think we're cats

2020-01-23 15:55:34 UTC

or that they're humans

2020-01-23 15:55:34 UTC

cats also imitate birds when they're hunting

2020-01-23 15:55:44 UTC

Recently scientists actually took the gene that allows us to produce proper language and they bred some mice with the gene

2020-01-23 15:55:47 UTC

I would argue plenty of humans act like their cats/dogs are humans lol

2020-01-23 15:55:50 UTC

and they literally made a language

2020-01-23 15:56:03 UTC

it was a series of squeaks to each other for different meanings

2020-01-23 15:56:30 UTC

don't corvids have fairly developed languages only shared between small social groups/families

2020-01-23 15:57:03 UTC

humans are the best animal the same way your country is the best country

2020-01-23 15:57:04 UTC

crows are extremely intelligent so i wouldnt doubt it

2020-01-23 16:55:30 UTC

crows are animals

2020-01-23 16:55:31 UTC
