because monarchists believe they are entitled to the output of the population

2020-03-02 17:46:20 UTC

who bare in mind

2020-03-02 17:46:26 UTC

did not have a say in the introduction of the ruler

2020-03-02 17:46:32 UTC

yet still have to pay away in taxes

2020-03-02 17:46:33 UTC

and what not

2020-03-02 17:46:49 UTC

Parliament levied the taxes, not His Majesty King George.

2020-03-02 17:47:07 UTC

King George believed it was a meager revolt, and being misinformed by parliament was directed to abuse his own subjects.

2020-03-02 17:47:20 UTC

It's the typical failure of what happens when a King, falls into the manipulation of court.

2020-03-02 17:47:28 UTC

Well

2020-03-02 17:47:33 UTC

Now we're getting into the blame game

2020-03-02 17:47:47 UTC

So your criticism is that because the King wasn't an absolute ruler

2020-03-02 17:47:48 UTC

It's still historical fact and a common mistake Kings and royals make.

2020-03-02 17:47:57 UTC

The taxes were levied

2020-03-02 17:49:27 UTC

No, my criticism is that in the system of constitutional monarchy, the checks and balances aren't too clearly defined. As in the British monarchy, the Crown gives the "final stamp of approval" and has on paper, the right to say no or revise as such with the election of a prime minister where the crown can just deny. But, parliament itself being a problem leads to the same issues as what plagues republics and ancient China, with factions struggling to manipulate the Crown and public to get their way.

2020-03-02 17:49:42 UTC

It leaves abundant room for these problems to weasle in.

2020-03-02 17:49:56 UTC

A system built on checks and balances is plagued from the beginning imo

2020-03-02 17:50:26 UTC

despite me being democratic

2020-03-02 17:50:32 UTC

That is with every system irrelevent to monarchy alone to be fair.

2020-03-02 17:50:41 UTC

Nothing is perfect if we're going to be honest openly.

2020-03-02 17:50:43 UTC

It's why authoritarianism is so efficient

2020-03-02 17:50:46 UTC

No of course not

2020-03-02 17:51:47 UTC

Why I rally for Monarchy is because of it working for a long period of time, even in the most primitive tribal socieities, Monarchy works seemingly flawlessly, as in a smaller scale the Monarchs have developed a deeper connection with their subjects giving us wise and all too well known leaders like Genghis Khan.

2020-03-02 17:52:01 UTC

And Caesar arguably, built up a well established link to the people and army to make himself an emperor

2020-03-02 17:52:08 UTC

Hah

2020-03-02 17:52:10 UTC

Don't confuse caesar

2020-03-02 17:52:12 UTC

with monarchy

2020-03-07 04:27:33 UTC

a

2020-03-07 04:32:33 UTC

what happened

2020-03-07 04:33:38 UTC

there was a raid

2020-03-07 04:33:48 UTC

we had to clear the chats

2020-03-07 09:44:45 UTC

The raid happened again. You're allowed to spam ME (not anyone else) if you witness it for the third time.

2020-03-07 10:07:49 UTC

Why don't you just restrict image posting permissions to people who have been in the server for a certain amount of time?

2020-03-07 10:08:03 UTC

Or base it on the total number of contributions

2020-03-07 13:57:48 UTC

That doeant sound like a bad idea

2020-03-07 14:05:33 UTC

Alternatively look for admins in other timezones.

2020-03-07 14:06:22 UTC

I proposed that, but some other admins opposed the idea.

2020-03-07 15:02:53 UTC

I wouldn’t make it merit based

2020-03-07 16:03:17 UTC
