2020-01-16 18:53:31 UTC

isn't that a cobot?

2020-01-16 18:53:37 UTC

aka of the shelf robot

2020-01-16 18:53:41 UTC

you can buy it

2020-01-16 19:32:55 UTC

for $35k you can own one too!

2020-01-16 19:33:21 UTC

you can program them by just moving the parts,

2020-01-16 19:33:29 UTC

atleast the ur5

2020-01-16 19:33:35 UTC

pretty neat imho

2020-01-16 20:46:31 UTC

35k really?? that seams cheap af

2020-01-16 20:47:26 UTC

@aWildTomAppeared I googled it, apparently

2020-01-16 20:47:40 UTC

I'd have guessed around 100k

2020-01-16 20:47:51 UTC

Slaves back in the 1800s cost $40,000 adjusting for inflation

2020-01-16 20:48:04 UTC

wtf

2020-01-16 20:48:51 UTC

the main difference is the robot is actually smart

2020-01-16 20:48:57 UTC

and good at tasks

this is why William the conqueror outlawed the slave trade, after buying a slave, paying for feeding them and sheltering them, its cheap, its just the slave traders who profit

from that footage I dont believe they are close to 30 seconds per pizzia

2020-01-16 20:56:57 UTC

@aWildTomAppeared take into accont they have several at once

2020-01-16 20:57:09 UTC

and a pizza is done in what, 5 minutes?

2020-01-16 20:57:16 UTC

yeha you have several people woking at once, and people take up less space

2020-01-16 20:57:46 UTC

its bs comparing 4 machines working to one human, when you would have 4 humans working just as the machines in the vid work, but faster

2020-01-16 20:58:37 UTC

but humans require breaks

2020-01-16 20:59:09 UTC

and it's expensive to pay for those breaks

2020-01-16 20:59:17 UTC

+10 for engineerding

2020-01-16 20:59:47 UTC

and a human would be more expensive in the long run

2020-01-16 21:00:11 UTC

breaks are insignificant, anyways I'm not saying this wont be worth it, it might, im just saying the times they are saying are absalout BS, this would not be 4x faster than humans, it would be lucky to be the same speed as them based on that footage

2020-01-16 21:00:17 UTC

then factor in training and so on

2020-01-16 21:00:57 UTC

I mean, they're making pizzas on an assembly line

2020-01-16 21:01:11 UTC

they do that already

2020-01-16 21:01:54 UTC

around here we get to see the pizza being made, and the pizzaguys are constantly talking to customers

2020-01-16 21:02:09 UTC

the biggest problem IMO, is that on a friday night you need WAY faster pizzia production, so much that you could have 50 drivers out at once and over a dozen people working in a small store to make pizzia, with people you just ask more people to come in on friday afternoon, but you cant do that with robots, you need to buy enough robots to do max capacity (which would take waaaaay more space than humans based on the footage) even tho usally you only need 10% that

2020-01-16 21:03:06 UTC

I don't know where you live, but pizzarates are pretty set here

2020-01-16 21:03:27 UTC

pizzia rates set? what u mean?

2020-01-16 21:03:28 UTC

sundays being a bit more hectic

2020-01-16 21:03:38 UTC

the order numbers

2020-01-16 21:03:49 UTC

my uncle was a manager at pizzia hut and then dominos for like a deccade
