L is what we usually call the diagonal of a right triangle here

You have a

2020-03-11 01:51:40 UTC

You find b and c with the trigonometric functions

2020-03-11 01:51:52 UTC

2020-03-11 01:52:05 UTC

Now b is the diagonal in this smaller triangle

2020-03-11 01:52:15 UTC

Right

2020-03-11 01:52:22 UTC

You find the other two sides with the same functions

2020-03-11 01:52:32 UTC

Yeah

2020-03-11 01:52:37 UTC

Do a- those 2 sides

2020-03-11 01:52:43 UTC

Found l

2020-03-11 01:53:07 UTC

I'll have my 50 bucks now

2020-03-11 01:54:30 UTC

Yeah its basically a 4 functions with 4 unknowns. b,c,l and a side length of one of the smaller triangles. I used 2 sin equation and 2 cos equations

TIL math degrees are worthless

2020-03-11 02:00:59 UTC

sin(theta) = B/C, cos(theta) = A/C, sin(theta) = b/c, cos(theta) = a/c, c=B, C-b-a=L. There are more than enough equations here to solve it

2020-03-11 02:01:59 UTC

@-5K- I got 97

I think that’s right

United Simps of America

2020-03-11 02:17:20 UTC

lmao

2020-03-11 02:24:53 UTC

@Stéllar After doing it over I keep getting 98 so I guess were close enough

2020-03-11 02:25:20 UTC

Did you round off early?

2020-03-11 02:25:29 UTC

No

2020-03-11 02:25:38 UTC

<:think_madpepe:378717098630971395>

2020-03-11 02:25:48 UTC

I figure it could have to do with the trig

2020-03-11 02:26:10 UTC

since those are approximations

2020-03-11 02:26:26 UTC

sin(theta) = 0.54 for example

2020-03-11 02:27:10 UTC

If we do different trig equations, errors made coming from those approximations may make themselves manifest

2020-03-11 02:36:28 UTC

Probably

2020-03-11 03:57:30 UTC

So...watching Demon Lord, Retry. An ok issaki anime @galesteppes. But man. So many Trap jokes it would make @GeorgyBoyo proud.

2020-03-11 05:49:10 UTC

Ehh, star wars became stale anyway

Daily reminder that the empire never did anything wrong

2020-03-11 05:57:37 UTC

If they were the bad guys how come the rebels always remain a tiny minority in the galaxy

2020-03-11 05:58:52 UTC

After all of Empire's "atrocities" they somehow always have the popular support and the rebels "saving the day" always end up getting fucked by the start of the next movie
