Foil is okay, but when you get to try Epee shits lit. Used go home covered in bruises cause it was 'stab anywhere, hard as you like rules`
tbh i didnt even really know have the rules of chess either i was just weirdly good at it
went to District and County a couple times
adults can learn most of late high school in about 8 weeks
it's drip fed to kids because they're dumb and easily distracted, and they're working on things like social skills as well

if you just play it casually, it's whatever right
but if you play it at any "higher" level, it's just learning patterns
and i had a PC at home
and then it's very boring and autistic
i like chess, occasionally, but my brother used to beat me all the time so I have a certain tentative negativity toward it
and only autistics actually enjoy it

I know a guy who was high elo in Chess and would just heavy hermit and play it read books
And when he lost he'd bang his desk and screech and his Mum would run in and calm him down
