I read a study about this a while ago and their conclusion was that differences between the parents, like education and socio-economy background, contribute more to the probability of separation than being married vs *only* cohabiting. think it's generally accepted now that 2 parent households are better than single parent situations

well JBPs general problem is when he is stating something in psychology he doesnt add a whole bunch of exceptions/etc. also attached to the initial statement
