Because you're not there overseeing their study so it's hard to tell. And many studies do come under scrutiny for inaccuracy or flaws

I had to do a research paper just recently on a study, and the study laid out flaws in past studies and they worked to improve the method in their own study to find more accurate results.

One other thing, I think calling this question "race and IQ" is very bad

and research on race and IQ in general wouldn't be the best

I think it would be bad for society as it would fuel racism among the less intelligent

I mean, I think it's better to only research genetics and IQ
