Not sure about the EPA but I don’t trust companies to not fuck up our natural resources

2019-01-22 18:43:54 UTC

But do you think the government does a good job?

2019-01-22 18:43:58 UTC

There’s so many loopholes

2019-01-22 18:44:08 UTC

If something doesn’t work properly, you fix it

2019-01-22 18:44:12 UTC

And companies who get blocked by the EPA would just leave

2019-01-22 18:44:19 UTC

Like in Cali

2019-01-22 18:44:31 UTC

I’d rather have fewer jobs and a clean world

2019-01-22 18:44:44 UTC

We kind of agree there

2019-01-22 18:44:47 UTC

Kind of

2019-01-22 18:44:54 UTC

I think we can do both

2019-01-22 18:45:05 UTC

Without regulation?

2019-01-22 18:45:14 UTC

Maybe

2019-01-22 18:45:33 UTC

How? Wouldn’t profit make companies ignore short term environmental damage?

2019-01-22 18:45:38 UTC

Like... has been happening?

2019-01-22 18:45:47 UTC

That’s my point

2019-01-22 18:45:51 UTC

The EPA doesn’t work

2019-01-22 18:46:06 UTC

If anything that’s the argument for improving the EPA

2019-01-22 18:46:17 UTC

I guess

2019-01-22 18:46:20 UTC

Look I’m not making the argument that government programs are smoothly run

2019-01-22 18:46:25 UTC

Or perfectly efficient

2019-01-22 18:46:30 UTC

lol

2019-01-22 18:46:35 UTC

But I do feel that they’re necessary

2019-01-22 18:46:40 UTC

And should be worked on

2019-01-22 18:46:49 UTC

I just think that there’s better solutions than holding companies at gunpoint

2019-01-22 18:47:00 UTC

I’m interested to hear these solutions

2019-01-22 18:47:39 UTC

Well we’d need a specific problem first

2019-01-22 18:47:54 UTC

Well we can start with your problem with the EPA

2019-01-22 18:48:05 UTC

No I mean like environmental problems

2019-01-22 18:48:08 UTC

Lol, nice username, how come you changed it to that? @Colonel Sanders™

2019-01-22 18:48:40 UTC

People kept confusing better dead than red (communist) with red conservative

2019-01-22 18:49:24 UTC

<:OOF:475784333370589184>

2019-01-22 18:49:40 UTC

I don’t know wahx I’m not an environmental expert but when it comes to the government robbing companies of the opportunity to conduct business because they damage some forest or something I think it’s idiotic

2019-01-22 18:50:09 UTC

There’s certain environmental problems that are insanely serious but others that are enforced are just stupid

2019-01-22 18:50:49 UTC

Like CO2 emissions is incredibly dumb to enforce considering there’s insufficient data to support its effect on the planet

2019-01-22 18:50:59 UTC

But things like the plastic in the pacific

2019-01-22 18:51:56 UTC

I don’t know I’m probably just an idiot

2019-01-22 18:52:30 UTC

I work with climate research professors, and they have different things to say about CO2, especially in how it’s affecting our oceans

2019-01-22 18:52:50 UTC

But I think a larger point is how much should we care about the environment? That’s what you’re saying, basically

2019-01-22 18:53:17 UTC

And I would rather have human growth than a single forest, but I’m worried about long term trends and their affect on our planet

2019-01-22 18:53:45 UTC

Because, most seriously, we are going to get millions of immigrants if the equator gets hotter

2019-01-22 18:53:59 UTC

Then there actually will be a humanitarian crisis at the southern border lol
