I gotta give you credit though Ben, at least you're keeping up the conversation
Myst ran out of aguments about 30 minutes ago, which is why he keeps calling me a Jew lmao. Even though I'm not at all.
Why then did the Allies decide to split up Europe and Yalta and Potsdam between themselves and the Soviets instead of dealing with them after the urgency of Hitler was taken care of?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Unknowable.
It's fairly knowable, I just dont think youre going to agree as to why
Theres probably reasons, but don't forget we had this thing called the Cold War which started pretty much immediately after WW2
International affairs are a long game
discretion is the better part of valor. Plus, the Soviets helped us out with Hitler. They spent a lot of russian blood. They get some of the spoils of war.
The Cold War was ideological tension, not a measured military response to aggression against an ally
Btw if the allies didn’t supply the Soviets then the Soviets would have lost to the Germans
And then Stalin started going crazy and yadda yadda Tear Down This Wall
And the allies could take down the Germans
Kys
Wtf
Lol that's the best you got myst?
Not even a good argument
F a g g o t
considering the Germans could have won regardless if they went to Moscow instead of...where di they go to again?
Like, 500 miles south?
Stalingrad wasn't it?
Lmao what a joke
How was Moscow the war ending goal?
Stalingrad was vital to securing the oil in Baku
Oil which the German military desperately needed
You take Moscow and then besiege the rest of the towns while you worry about the rest of Europe. To kill the snake you cut off the head. The Russian government wasn't strong enough to stay together after losing their capital.
Could have had Moscow then waltz right in for the oil.
If you're a soldier and your capital is taken...you're no longer a soldier. you're like a resistance fighter.
Ala the French resistance fighters
That's video game logic
No it's really not
It really is
Where do you think video games got it from?
A need for simplified, clear rules?
Okay.........and?
History
Bingo
That's what happens. You get rid of the centralized leadership and then it's just a clean up job.
The Eastern Front was an intensely patriotic struggle, very few if even a single Russian soldier would say "oh, well they got Moscow. I cant fight anymore"
Because without central authority there's no coordination, there's no logistics, there's no anything. It's just now various local factions all with their own shit going on
