they are getting paid either way
Yeah exactly
so why would they care, it's just a body
thats exactly my point save the last
they dont have to actually cure anybody that doesnt matter. they love money then
But they aren’t getting more money from one of the people in a socialized system
Plus isn’t this problem worse in a non socialized setting where the rich person does in fact have more money and can pay the doctor more?
they are getting more per person, just not from the person. And it isnt that bad in a non socialized system, it is more of the thing of what do you have
break a leg in canada they wont treat you for roughly a year till the queue clears up
right because everyone is getting treated
the whole point is that it's socialized: the poor are getting helped at the expense of the wealthier
and if you think we live in a meritocracy, that would be unfair to the wealthier
but we don't, not remotely
also after googling this lightly, it seems canada has one of the worse examples of government healthcare systems, so I'd prefer to hold the us to a higher bar
https://www.factcheck.org/2007/12/comparing-health-care-in-canada-to-the-us/ but you're right, because you treat everybody more equally than in a private system, wait times go up. That's unfortunate, but is it worth making sure citizens are safe?
I'd argue yes
I'd argue no, it impedes on the freedoms of everybody in this country that initially was a reason for it. Taxes, a big one. What are taxes like in Canada? Horrible. Here, you can get just about any healthcare for cheap, hell even through work you can get some plans like dental. It is not a problem of hard to get, its a problem of people being fuck all lazy at the bottom of the scale. Of course there are exceptions, but that is the rule. Most people on government aid will never leave it not out of inability, but because they choose not to because it's nice never having to do anything. Except when Trump comes along and is trying to make foodstamps, just boxes of food so you can just waste it on alcohol, you demand more from the government. Having a socialized system doesnt work. Even then, a partially socialized system barely works on the socialized half. Ever wonder why the US postal service sucks ass? Because they get paid no matter what they do. The only large group that works in socialized if you could even call it that, is the military
There are two big people in the media that are great examples of the canadian healthcare system and why things like it dont work. Steven Crowder and Jim Carrey
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_the_healthcare_systems_in_Canada_and_the_United_States Uh idk where you got the impression that health care is more expensive in Canada, it's far more expensive in teh US
"In 2004, Canada government-spending was $2,120 (in US dollars) per person, while the United States government-spending $2,724. ... However, U.S. government spending covers less than half of all healthcare costs. Private spending is also far greater in the U.S. than in Canada."
Fact is whenever developed countries have their health care systems measured for cost effectiveness the US is always behind countries that have more robust socialized systems. And yeah, our socialized systems need improvement, but I think they help the people
except our healthcare is of similar quality hmm I wonder why that is. Maybe it's because the US develops the large majority of medical necessities and makes the most modern breakthrough and puts the most into research. And in order to make up for that more needs to be charged at the reception
nobody thinks
CANADA ROCKS, canada fucking sucks
all other countries benefit from the US
Medically
Militarily
Economically
And then says the US needs to be more like them because of statistics that say the US is behind because of its efforts to make everyone else ina better position
read up
go talk to a biotechnology teacher for a highschool
they know more than you could fathom about this shit
don't tell me to read up, you're just bringing up random points that are true as though I'm not aware of them
they all relate to this
dude I literally just graduated in bioengineering... I know a good amount about the current medical system
good for you, you still dont
and all of this relates because socialized systems are great when you have the biggest power in the world as your big brother
that's really cool that you have come to that conclusion without citing any evidence, while I've been the one sending you studies and articles
not when you are the big brother to support everybody
it's a spectrum of socialized systems
