For example, republicans don’t posture around asking planned parenthood to finance their campaigns. They tend to oppose abortion, and do not change public opinions for mere cash. They may be swayed on very particular and local issues such as building a bridge, but you won’t see a Republican suddenly opposing tax cuts because that would anger their base.
