Is it just about stopping gay pride or about stopping gay people in general?

2019-01-06 06:42:35 UTC

Just kinda stopping it in general. In my opinion they dont really contribute to much just because they are gay.

2019-01-06 06:42:50 UTC

Oh lol

2019-01-06 06:43:16 UTC

Lol I should go through a college campus with a shirt that says that

2019-01-06 06:43:16 UTC

But i dont wanna go up to gay people and tell then to not be gay

2019-01-06 06:43:26 UTC

I’d get murdered

2019-01-06 06:43:36 UTC

No you would just get twitter shamed

2019-01-06 06:43:43 UTC

Probably

2019-01-06 06:44:16 UTC

I don’t mind gay people imo I’m kind of libertarian on the issue I don’t really judge people based on sexual orientation

2019-01-06 06:44:20 UTC

With a bunch of posts that are threatening but don't actually pose one.

2019-01-06 06:44:38 UTC

Me neither

2019-01-06 06:45:14 UTC

I want to share my ideas but people like to take things out of context and only favor their side.

2019-01-06 06:45:30 UTC

Ah

2019-01-06 06:45:30 UTC

Alot of left media cherry pick data

2019-01-06 06:45:41 UTC

Yeah I hate that too, both sides do it sadly

2019-01-06 06:45:59 UTC

I just got to the fbi tables and save the pic

2019-01-06 06:46:07 UTC

And also copy the link

2019-01-06 06:46:44 UTC

You are right tho both sides do

2019-01-06 06:47:02 UTC

Sometimes there are misinformed conservatives

2019-01-06 06:48:00 UTC

Yeah I just think it’s a common human characteristic that a lot of people have regardless of ideology or party affiliation, they want to be right so they cherry pick facts and data to prove their point, instead of looking at it objectively and trying to find out what’s right or wrong

2019-01-06 06:49:29 UTC

A lot of people already formed an opinion on something before they actually research it, so they go into researching it with a bias and will be more likely to cherry pick

2019-01-06 06:51:13 UTC

I conduct research myself. If i find a whole data table the supports me, im happy. I don't cherry pick or look for skewed data. I always go to government sites. Like the FBI & CDC.

2019-01-06 06:53:01 UTC

One thing i do want to put my two cents in is the Kavanaugh hearing.

2019-01-06 06:59:50 UTC

The accusations did not happen until it so happened to be a Republican was running for supreme court justice, that someone came out and said something. If this happened in highschool, she could have reported it. If i was her and i got raped i would have stoped at nothing to make sure my rapist gets served justice. So why is it that she comes out when he runs for the position.

2019-01-06 07:24:04 UTC

As

2019-01-06 15:00:34 UTC

@chad do you think the average man is capable of overcoming his own confirmation bias, or is independent (primary source) research beyond his reach?

2019-01-06 15:01:19 UTC

Hmmm

2019-01-06 15:02:58 UTC

Honestly I’m not sure lol, I know in every group there’s people who are incapable of doing that but I’m not sure whether the average man is or not

2019-01-06 15:03:29 UTC

If you really wanted to you could find primary sources and scientific articles but the thing is they are hard to come back unless you specifically look for them

2019-01-06 15:04:05 UTC

identifying sound methodology is definitely out of reach lol

2019-01-06 15:04:22 UTC

It’s not out of reach it’s just that a lot of people don’t do it

2019-01-06 15:04:46 UTC

They get all their information or most of it from biased news sites or partisan hack commentators

2019-01-06 15:06:01 UTC

The thing with articles in academic journals is that contentious issues have very nebulous data, and the bias of the authors has a significant effect on how they fill in the holes for their interpretation

2019-01-06 15:06:52 UTC

illegal immigration is a good example of a topic where good statistical work just doesn't exist or is very hard to find amidst the partisan garbage

2019-01-06 15:08:08 UTC

Ah idk I’ve never read any academic literature about illegal immigration

2019-01-06 15:08:54 UTC

I don't recommend it

2019-01-06 15:09:21 UTC

But that’s believable, but the thing is when trying to get to the bottom of something you have to get informations from both sides of the isle which the average man doesn’t do

2019-01-06 15:09:38 UTC

They tend to only watch or listen to things that conform their pre held beliefs

2019-01-06 15:09:42 UTC

I don't think that is the solution actually

2019-01-06 15:10:05 UTC

everyone tells lies, but putting two opposing lies together doesn't usually give you the truth

2019-01-06 15:11:17 UTC

Well yeah you have to search for truth of course. But in a lot of cases there are no lies, just biased cherry picked stats/information, each side does so if you hear out both sides you get a wider perspective and you get the whole story rather than a one sided one
