I think the Democratic Party is quite split between liberals and leftists

Liberals I think are pro border security, the leftists don't give a shit

Whether I can tell which one is speaking, I have no clue. They are both apart of the same party

Not as much as you think, leftists want open borders, I don't think open borders has been taken seriously in American politics

Democratic Senators only speak to entice their voters, that must explain a flip flop in policies

I can most definitely see why leftists would want to use the Democratic party as a platform

Although I look at a lot of the major left wing rallies and protests, they don't seem like the liberal intelligent people you like to claim there is plentiful of. I look at the Hillary rallies, the protests of the border, protests of Trumps inauguration, the election riots, the Women's March
