@Jerm not a problem at all
... I'm also a bit (a lot actually) of a tech peasant. I'll say hi when I've found my way into the secret chamber. Have a good day π
@Scribbly_G morning π. Did you find your way to the room? It's so secret I can't even see it on the menu - just #pushtalk and am directed from Patreon page to this thread ....
@Dusty Iβm still finding my way to the room, itβs further than I thought
I'll have a look at it now
@Scribbly_G πππ
Diary, 25 November 1922.
WIth trembling hands, I made a tiny breach in the upper left hand corner... widening the hole a little, I inserted the candle and peered in... at first I could see nothing, the hot air escaping from the chamber causing the candle to flicker. Presently, details of the room emerged slowly from the mist, strange animals, statues and gold βΒ everywhere the glint of gold. For the moment β an eternity it must have seemed to the others standing by β I was struck dumb with amazement, and when Lord Carnarvon, unable to stand in suspense any longer, inquired anxiously "Can you see anything?", it was all I could do to get out the words "Yes, wonderful things" (Howard Carter on King Tuts tomb discovery)
is it just me or is Rama's life becoming endangered....see a lot of DD tweets
@Dusty check now
Ok, I'm still lost
@Andre Have you gone onto Patreon and connected your account to Discord?
LOL, maybe try logging out of both Discord and Patreon and try again. Logging off and on worked for me.
Thanks, will give it a shot π
@Andre It's working now. Patreon also suggests editing your payment.
Note:Patrons who were pledged to you before you set up your Discord Patreon roles will need to update their pledge, so that they can land back on the βthank youβ page containing their invite to your Discord server. Feel free to direct any patrons who did not receive their server invite, here.
@AcidOverride got it, will do that
Since nobody is allowed to discuss this, I put it into a cartoon.
Has anyone here read The Bell Curve?
@Jerm All good that we post your content on our own timelines while you in FB timeout?
Please share away. I really don't mind at all. I'm not precious about the stuff being on my personal timeline.
π
@lambdalizard ππ² Is it good?
It's long π It's an 800-page book published in 1994 which tries to describe the class structure in American society. Mostly it argues that intelligence is a major predictor of just about everything (income, occupation, family structure, criminal activity)
Racists, eugenicists and edgelords frequently cite the parts (out of context, obviously) about the IQ differences between race groups. Most recently, there was a guy given a 5-minute interview on NPR (Jason Kessler iirc) who quoted the book.
I just got ahold of a copy and I'm scanning through it
I'm reading it because of this
The US media has lost their collective shit because NPR (public radio) gave a "platform" to this guy
