Imagine being so woke you think you know what every house rent price should be

2020-01-20 19:55:20 UTC

housing is the most toxic market tho

2020-01-20 19:55:32 UTC

the most anti consumer

2020-01-20 19:55:45 UTC

Lets introduce a toxic and corrupt institution into the mix, that'll fix it

2020-01-20 19:56:02 UTC

probably wont

2020-01-20 19:56:11 UTC

but how does one even fix that?

2020-01-20 19:56:20 UTC

housing is a 100% safe investment

2020-01-20 19:56:28 UTC

the more you buy, the more power you have

2020-01-20 19:56:33 UTC

then you can raise rent

2020-01-20 19:56:42 UTC

and you will make more and more money from it

2020-01-20 19:56:49 UTC

housing market makes the rich richer and the poor poorer

2020-01-20 20:18:04 UTC

As free market as I am I geniunely don't know enough about housing issues other than artificially low interest rates and pretty high amounts of regulation for construction companies when it comes to getting building permits

2020-01-20 20:18:36 UTC

And the issues with social housing

2020-01-20 20:22:32 UTC

Oh and also tax incentives on owning houses vs profiting other ways, doesn't get capital gains taxed so more money flows into houses pushing up prices for people trying to get income from their money

2020-01-20 20:31:41 UTC

im not that much of a free market person

2020-01-20 20:31:55 UTC

im a center left nationalist

2020-01-20 20:32:13 UTC

capitalism needs its regulation and limits to prevent it from ruining people

2020-01-20 20:33:48 UTC

Nay fam

2020-01-20 20:34:00 UTC

Government regulation hurts the lower classes the most

2020-01-20 20:35:51 UTC

Who do you think benifits from those regulations and limits?
Big business

2020-01-20 20:36:03 UTC

Small business cant afford it the big ones can

2020-01-20 20:36:24 UTC

Just helps create "monopolies"

2020-01-20 20:37:28 UTC

Also that's why big business has massive amounts of it's budget for lobbying so they can help change the law and regulation in it's favour against smaller competitors

2020-01-20 20:41:07 UTC

it depends on the kind of regulation

2020-01-20 20:43:30 UTC

Idk when it comes to regulation it's just a back door into government for big business to pay for favours.
That or another way for Government to take more money from the market in general

2020-01-20 20:44:08 UTC

Pretty cynical of me but that's how I see it anyway

2020-01-20 20:47:30 UTC

back door into gov for business - depends on how much lobbyism is accepted

2020-01-20 20:57:42 UTC

Lobbyism is innate when government has power that businesses can use

2020-01-20 20:59:15 UTC

true

2020-01-20 21:00:03 UTC

Thats why I dont think the government should be involved in regulating markets like they do

2020-01-20 21:00:48 UTC

I hear 'anal sunshine' and I think I'm not supposed to hear that

2020-01-21 00:52:27 UTC

"Government regulation hurts the lower classes the most"

Citation needed.

2020-01-21 00:55:03 UTC

Last I saw, companies were dumping all kinds of harmful shit into people's drinking water to cut corners. It was the EPA not the free market that helped cut down on that.
