the problem is that it's an already photoshopped image that's basically a rough cutout of him in a white t-shirt and a white ball-cap against a white wall with a white guitar. There's not a lot of contrast to be made in the first place, so that didn't help.

This is the image i modified, I ran it through Paint dot Net with the contrast settings and then ran a bit of layering and tweaking with the brush

friend brought up I should do a bit more landscapey/background shit so I am just gonna slowly recreate some of the old pictures I've taken.

Not an exact replica, but I added a noise filter and stuff to add a bit more of a similar look

Yours looks more peaceful while your friend's art looks like a distant apocalypse
