So no children at all?
I think the odds of them ending up with someone nice are a lot higher than that!
@Bobby_Hill it's not fair to blanket all of one sex for the actions of a few, to say it 'will' happen is simply wrong. That doesn't mean people shouldn't try to give their children the best start in life and teach them about the world or how to be happy, but that's a very bleak outlook to have.
@InsaneCaterpilla I'm never having kids so I don't spread my disability ♿
So my opinion shouldn't really matter
That's fair enough as a personal choice, is it a high chance?
It's like rolling a D20
You might get a baby with mild autism or a baby who is borderline retarded
Idk these days with proper care they can indentify some problems in the womb and prevent the continuation of pregnancy in the event of things
I don't think they can for autism, though
Nope
That's just how it is
The spectrum goes from full tard - to normal person and everything in between
It also doesn't help that most girls with autism are very mild while boys tend to be more severe
I wonder if routine infant circumcisions has anything to do with this disparity
That's unlikely, but I wasn't aware of the disparity
Infant circumcision causes the brain to undergo trauma
Look it up
It must not cause autism but worsen the already afflicted child
I know it does
But that having an effect on how autism is doesn't add up. You would need to show a comparison with countries that dont usually do it. Also, the US tends to overdiagnose and overmedicate its children.
I am not at all comfortable with the idea that autistic children should be aborted on principal. It seems abhorrent.
To me it does too, tbh, but parents should have that option in severe cases if it becomes identifiable, I think
Parenthood should be based on knowledge of what you are signing up for whenever possible
Ideally they should, but let's be really honest here - killing off all the serious autistics is what I call 'a polite genocide'. And it would not stop at the serious ones. Like Downs in certain countries, we would be all but wiped out.
Can it really be considered a genocide when no one is killed?
If we talk about selecting for race or sex, eye or hair colour I would agree, but these things aren't disorders
And I doubt such a screening method would be advocated for mandatory screening and elimination. I'm sure we'll still be blessed with remarkable autistic people as we are today
I'm struggling to think of a way to put this that won't start a huge argument.
But I think that saying nobody is killed when an abortion happens is one of the most disturbing and disingenuous arguments that has ever existed.
And I'm sure that you may disagree. But I kinda have work and I'm very tired of the whole debate.
I'm sorry I upset you
It's fine. I'm actually just trying not to upset you actually.
I honestly think there's a lot of Millue language around this debate and it gets incredibly emotional. I think I'll opt out for now, honestly.
Ok, no worries, we don't have to agree on everything mate
I think sterilization would be better than genocide
but aborting when it's known the baby will have some sort of defect is the most ideal
honestly we need more abortions in general
this world is too overpopulated
that and automation is going to render most jobs obsolete in 20 years anyway
though, lets face it
