So making their options less viable
Same with suffrage
But that just my opinion
This persists even today and you go on about how it used to be fine, why are you making excuses for something you know is unfair? Simply make it fair today. I don't care what the reasons were, it wasn't fair then and it isn't fair now, and I'm not going to pretend that it makes what happened back then more ok that they had excuses for doing certain things
I'm tired anyway.. probably not bringing my point across as eloquently as I could
If ya wanna reply I'll have a see tomorrow mate, Nn all
Nm dude
I’m not saying what they did was justified
I’m just saying they felt they had no other option
And yes it persists today
But
It’s a great story
@Fred-104 If I remember, The Suffragettes were actually holding back women's right to vote - since whenever the vote came up as an idea, it was now framed in terms of giving in to terrorists. Basically
The suffragists are the real campaigners. They were the legitimate people asking for the change.
They managed to win public sympathy, to a degree. But to frame it in terms of rights is to look at it through the suffragette lense. The public had no right to vote, so they didn't see it as being about equality until it was framed that way.
thats kinda of what im saying, the way the acted about the whole issue was terrible, even detrimental to there efforts, but it was born out of desperation
and yes ik at this point even some men couldnt vote ik
I'm not sure it was desperation so much as hunger for power. They didn't care about common women and they used income tax laws to have their husbands imprisoned.
It's hard to tell now, what with all the changes the Feminists made to history
I think a good parallel is to look at modern feminism actually, a lot of the activists are middle upper class and a lot of the stuff they fight for are things that don’t really effect women on the lower ends of society, all that shut about more women in CEO positions and stem and the hundreds of silly little “protections” they want in place, the people who mostly demand these things are in a place of privilege however cannot see themselves that way and it leaves the average women behind since their noses are so turned up that they cannot see the people below them, and then they wonder why the average women is turning away from feminism in larger numbers, it’s because they have real world shit to worry about and cannot afford to get involved in such a self indulgent movement
I just started watching the documentary American Circumcision... I'm slowly realizing that I'm was mutilated and I'm never going to feel fully what I should when I touch myself because of what my parents chose
Feelsbadman
And this only happens to boys! Girls in the west don't have to have to deal with these feelings of not being whole down their because they were born perfect and don't need to be mutilated for some reason
@Bobby_Hill You're right there. Ever seen The Red Pill movie? That was enough circumcision video for me, and I mean permanently.
Hm
Hmmm?
Ooooh. Anyone seen this: "Netflix blurred out the circumcision and graphic pictures in 'American circumcision' wtf?" - https://redd.it/a6x668 "Then whats the point? Shouldnt parents be able to watch if they are willing to do it to their own child?"
One of the best comments: "The fact they have censored it, is an admission that the practice is too awful to be seen. Definitely too horrible to be legal, I'd say.
Shouldn't parents be able to watch if they are willing to do it to their own child?
They should damn well have to."
Like i know there is 'foreskin restoration' stuff but that does not bring back the thousands of nerve endings. It's like I'm going through life playing a game with missing DLC that is impossible to get.
Is it wrong that I resent the fact that women have the ability to feel greater sexual pleasure than me because they aren't circumcised?
I can't even say anything to anyone about this irl without being told I'm stupid.
@Bobby_Hill It's not stupid. I think that feeling jealous is natural as this was taken away from you without consent.
I don't think you should actively resent them - or uncut men - though. If anyone, maybe resent the people who object to our campaign to make this illegal.
And the cutters, as well.
Thanks for the kind words. @Men Are Human
Its nice to know someone actually cares
Also I don't resent uncut men. If anything I envy them and the fact they are what I will never be.
No worries, it's alright. I'm hoping that one day this will be seen as barbaric and no more boys ever have it done to them. You are part of that fight, and I think you should be proud of that.
Just having American Circumcision on the USA version of Netflix means we are going to see a dip in the numbers.
And the fact it's censored means that people know this is wrong.
I know that won't fix you, but I hope it will at least it helps
