most mainstream media defended it

The reactions if it was on Tumblr / twitter could be different for a variety of reasons

Twitter being mostly accounts with personal information and Tumblr being the sjw capital

That thread is correct, but it is correct in a very limited way: we cannot simply assert the suicide rate for transsexuals is because of how they are treated, it is a complex issue and that needs to be shown.
