😃
My oven is preheating so you're stuck with me a little longer
@InsaneCaterpilla how do you play the Pokemon game?
Type p!start in the lounge
Type p!catch when a pokemon appears to catch it
Type p!info to see your pokemon
Gotcha
You need to pick a starter though
Okay
Damn no charizard
Why you do this!
You have to pick the first evolution, you can get one if you level it
Heads up, this Discord server is being shared on various anti-MRM platforms
<@&516181909554987038>
Thanks for the heads up, we had someone this morning that looked like a troll, we will keep an eye out 😃
Which ones specifically?
@Longing#5599
I think that explains the one random with had earlier
It's certainly a possibility, though... If that's the case, I would have expected more by now
Probably just lurking through the chats trying to take out of context screencaps
Could well be
Would say to maybe pin a thing asking for them to just chat with us, like actually trying to have a discussion instead of just dropping troll comments and leaving before anyone has a chance to respond... but I’m not sure that they would check the pins xD
Mmm, that would probably just add to any fuss they could cause, though. It's probably best to take the approach of not paying them any mind, and just ban anyone who breaks our normal rules
Yeah, probably for the best, but I feel like if we still don’t get a chance to actually just talk civilly then no progress will ever be made, granted I’ve seen how closed minded a lot of the more extreme anti-feminists can get and I would assume they would be more or less like that
It's unlikely anyone will come here from an anti MRM place that will be willing to talk or listen, but there's no harm in it. The type who come from such a link won't be a moderate
Maybe I am too naive, expecting rationality from the irrational, I wish more people would just stop and listen and actually try to understand where someone else is coming from
So do I :<
It’s why I gain a lot of respect for the feminists who do stop to listen, gained a lot of respect for Lacy Green even though I still agree with pretty much nothing she says xD
Liana K is the other feminist I like listening to, she did a YT series recently about women in gaming that was pretty alright
She even brought up an MR point which fell hilariously flat because she clearly wasn’t overly comfortable talking about it xD
Those sound familiar so I might have heard something from them at one point, but honestly it's been a long time since I had any hope in any feminist. People like the red pill woman I keep forgetting the name of (I'm horrid with names, is it cassie jaye?) genuinely surprise me because it seems like people are too set in their beliefs
Well I don’t agree with either of them a lot, however I respect their ability to listen and acknowledge the other side, also when they can talk rationally about it, it helps to keep an understanding of the other side as well as stopping yourself from getting echo chambered, which is something I would like to avoid seeing what it has done to a lot of movements
I like that within the MRM there are plenty of disagreements and debates still, if men's right's places were like feminist subs for example people would be being banned for dissent
well I strongly believe that if you disagree with something, you had better have a really good understanding of it as well as know exactly why you disagree with it before you start debating it, otherwise you will end up as the close minded idiot just yelling things from a distance
like that debate between shaperio and that guy from TYT, they where each having their own debate, like, they looked like they didnt even listen to the other person they where that disconnected from each other (worth a watch, actually really funny XD)
I don't really think that, but I do believe that if you go into a debate you should do it rationally, try not to shout people down, and be open to learning things as well. Sometimes both sides can learn something from.a debate even if their knowledge isn't absolute
the best debates are the ones where both people come out having gained something
