Most of the people here are from men's rights, we've been stickied there a few times ^^

2019-01-12 21:28:16 UTC

I'm new to this community, recently found it

2019-01-12 21:28:40 UTC

You mean the mensrights sub?

2019-01-12 21:28:55 UTC

Is it ok if I ask what got you interested in the issues we face?

2019-01-12 21:29:05 UTC

that too, yeds

2019-01-12 21:35:00 UTC

to put it simply, i'm a teenager. i was a full-on communist before. used to agree with feminists and such. also used to browse r/inceltears sometimes. Found out about this sub called r/MGTOW. lurked a bit through and it kind of opened a new window to me. I found statistics that I couldn't before imagine, and heard other mens' stories where they had their lives unfairly ruined through things like false accusations. This definetly changed my viewpoint on the situation. Found r/mensrights, and after a few days lurking that I found this place.

2019-01-12 21:36:15 UTC

I will admit that I am also scared for myself as these are all things that could happen to me, my friends, or anyone

2019-01-12 21:36:49 UTC

I didn't realise how much men were actually discriminated until this week, and it definetly changed my beliefs.

2019-01-12 21:37:26 UTC

Hey @S8N

2019-01-12 21:37:30 UTC

Hey!

2019-01-12 21:38:30 UTC

Don't worry, we need to create awareness and people will see through the lies

2019-01-12 21:39:14 UTC

I think a lot of people find out good things about men's rights through feminism and stuff surprisingly. If you just take what people say about us at face value, then they won't, but If they actually look at the things we talk about it paints a totally different picture to what they'd like to portray us as

2019-01-12 21:39:48 UTC

well said

2019-01-12 21:40:52 UTC

i think a lot of people, especially teenagers, will eventually find out about men's rights through things like this

2019-01-12 21:41:27 UTC

from my experience, some of these were things I thought of but told myself were fake cause the feminists said it can't be right

2019-01-12 21:41:54 UTC

Some lies can be pervasive

2019-01-12 21:42:55 UTC

They are very good at manipulation

2019-01-12 21:43:32 UTC

the way i see it, a big thing that keeps people from these ideas is the negativity surrounding it

2019-01-12 21:43:44 UTC

everyone remotely related to men's rights is automatically named an "incel"

2019-01-12 21:44:32 UTC

Trust me @S8N people are starting to see their bullshit

2019-01-12 21:44:51 UTC

And it's starting from reddit

2019-01-12 21:45:35 UTC

Almost always Their goto response is 'feminism is for men too' even when we give multiple ways feminism have harmed men.

2019-01-12 21:45:59 UTC

Well welcome @S8N . Yes, there are many like you. The situation is worse than most would expect

2019-01-12 21:46:07 UTC

Yea, incel is their new go to personal attack to dismiss someone who says anything that supports men's issues

2019-01-12 21:46:10 UTC

Thank you for the welcome

2019-01-12 21:46:20 UTC

yeah seriously, they managed to demonize the word "incel" completely

2019-01-12 21:46:21 UTC

Then they'll blame men for causing their own problems.

2019-01-12 21:46:35 UTC

Toxic masculinity and patriarchy are their boogeymen

2019-01-12 21:47:05 UTC

today in a thread i've seen someone be called an incel because they said that equality of opportunity is what we should go for and feminism doesn't want that

2019-01-12 21:47:11 UTC

They set up certain scripted responses, like “whataboutism” or “no,u” or “mansplaining”

2019-01-12 21:47:48 UTC

The comments in that thread give me a bit of hope

2019-01-12 21:48:05 UTC

They phrase things in s particular way do that they can guess the responses and have a calculated reply

2019-01-12 21:49:38 UTC

@S8N exactly, I had posted the same thread here today with exactly the same comment you made

2019-01-12 21:49:47 UTC

There's hope

2019-01-12 21:49:55 UTC

@blueorange22 now they just say "haha found the incel" whenever they've been proven wrong

2019-01-12 21:50:48 UTC

It’s scripted, they learn lines from elsewhere

2019-01-12 21:51:05 UTC

Personally that scientific study gave me more hope, it got a lot of attention. The one that showed men face more systematic discrimination than women in the western world

2019-01-12 21:51:15 UTC

It’s not “just happening”, they aren’t just “coming up” with that

2019-01-12 21:51:21 UTC

It’s organized

2019-01-12 21:51:26 UTC

They are afraid that people will break their 'conditioning'
