Glad to hear there is action being taken

It seems to be a systemic thing though. One hospital is bad luck, two is a pattern. My ex GF was also training to be a midwife but quit because of the bullying and when there was a national story a few months back about a major incident in a london hospital that happened due to miscommunication I would say it's leaning towards a systemic issue

These investigations should hopefully help put a dent in the issue though

Hopefully, but this is only individual hospitals. It's not made it to a national consciousness yet. It's made harder given the demographic. Women working with young mothers and babies. How could they ever be mean /s

Well spending time in hospitals you could see it wasn’t good, the nurses get really bitchy with each other with head nurse usually being the worst

There seems to be a lot of corruption in caretaking in general, there's a lot of elder abuse in old folks' homes as well

Did I ever tell you about the time where the nurses gave me dirty looks when I cleaned my dads balls for him because no one was cleaning him... also bringing him clean undies every week gets expensive because no one would help him wipe his bum

I get that it's a stressful job, it probably has some negative mental impacts, but that's not okay

I'm in favor of caretakers and police getting regular mental evaluations

Well once when I wasn’t there he tried to wipe himself and burst his stitches and got blood and lymph fluid all over the floor, was sitting the buzzing for the nurses for about 15 minutes because an angry nurse came in to yell at him for buzzing so much

Holy hell, I think I'd much rather die before I ever had to be put in one of those places

I am a full time caretaker now, it’s fun how little support I get

That's fucking disgusting. Surely that warrants being reported. Negligence leading to complications and harm. Not to mention psychological stress

My dad talked to the solicitor and they said they didn’t want the case

There is a lot more shit that hospital did that they should be sued for, but it’s a bit complicated

Without money things are difficult to fix or hold people accountable

Pretty difficult to fight a court case while also having to pay child support

For context, my mum has kicked me out of home, my dad was in hospital and couldn’t pay it, so I payed for the child support that was meant to me for raising me... the child

Pretty sure there are laws where being in a coma is no excuse for missing support payments

Well there was a guy who was captive in the Middle East, when he was finally released he was arrested as soon as he got home because of overdue child support

That is genuinely awful, imagine the kids being ecstatic just to have their father back from a life threatening situation, and then... boom, he's arrested

Also if you miss one payment ever, no matter the reason, you are actually “legally” labeled as a deadbeat dad for the rest of your life
