we've been fighting to get those rights back
internet users in the US have zero rights right now
if his ISP has made a deal with a competing streaming service (like Amazon or Netflix) then they can heavily modify or even shut off service to competing services
its one of the primary complaints against ISPs in the US
Right but it isn't illegal
I agree with you an json has the right to monitor what users do on their network
But they shouldn't
Apparently that's what the carrier said... And no not streaming uploads, just downloads using a tether (one device connected), but they said it was illegal and actually cut the connection off
you wouldn't happen to know which ISP it was would you
Boss cellular
oh jesus... a cellular provider
Yea its mobile data not WiFi >.<
cellular providers are the most evil when it comes to monitoring and regulating their customer's usage
so I'm not shocked at all
Their WiFi box died last Saturday lol
streaming downloads are very taxing on cellular services
some cellular providers disallow it based on that fact alone
It just seems so weird, like you're paying for a service how can they dictate how you use it x_x
I worked in the cell service (for Verizon) for almost 10 years and you wouldn't imagine the liberties they take
because its considered JUST a phone provider
but they actually provide so much more than just voice
and most of that is unregulated
Oof. So there's no real recourse?
he can switch providers
or start a new account
Hi @Judas Maccabeus !
Hello sir
I'm really curious about the costume in your avatar. Could you tell me about it? @Judas Maccabeus
he looks like a renaissance clergyman
This is a photo of the Holy Father Pope Gregory XVII
He is wearing the attire of a cardinal
Thoughts?
Genesis 3:16 To the woman also he said: I will multiply thy sorrows, and thy conceptions: in sorrow shalt thou bring forth children, and thou shalt be under thy husband's power, and he shall have dominion over thee
1 Timothy 2:15 Yet she shall be saved through childbearing; if she continue in faith, and love, and sanctification, with sobriety.
Well then!
Troll?
Also, you don't read the bible much 😦
