Haven't watched much of that season
The doctor is a girl now
That's not why I haven't watched though, just haven't gotten around to it.
I just never liked it too much really... I did watch one very old movie I think when I was a kid, daleks were invading and it was in black and white
Yeah I never really got in to.the older ones
I liked the 2005 version though
@Indigo We should definitely make sure we add a whole LGBTQ section to the faq and say that trans and gay issues are men's issues.
No
Please no
@Uberduperdrew I saw a few of the female doctor episodes and they kinda grew on me.... until I got really tired of the SJW angle. The 1950s episode was actually really good even if there were cringy moments.
This needs much more nuanced than a black and white answer
I'm not talking about a page. More like a little section talking about it.
You know me, I'm not against lgbt rights or anything. But I don't support diversification of the MRM to supporting things outside our scope
We are not Feminism
I don't think we should Co opt issues like feminism does just to stay afloat
That being said gay issues are defenitely men's issues
No, but we do support men and gay men are still male
And we should support trans men.
Saying we 'should' support anything that isn't related to mens rights is exactly what feminists do
Why should we?
Empathy gap is one important thing that affects all men including gay men
Which could be considered as a basis of almost all male disadvantage
Well I'm not saying we go out and support every movement out there like they do. We will say that we basically leave gay rights to their specific movement.
MRM issues do effect people from other backgrounds, but not on the basis of them being gay or whatever
Violence against gay men are multitudes of times higher than lesbians
Violence against men in general is multitudes higher than against women
I mean, I don't think the LGBTQ community needs our help at this point - but we are happy to say we support their fight.
It's since they ARE Men
That's why I said we cannot deny gay issues arise partly out of Men's issues
I don't believe in throwing around opinions of support. It serves to divide and detract when we haven't even focused on our core goals of eliminating bias in society against men, in a fair way that will benefit everyone no matter their sexuality. Throwing our support behind other movements which are fine on their own is a mistake
That's how the mrm should operate.
We would actively need to trash the temptation of intersectionalism which will only be detrimental in the future.
The MRM approach helps every men
Just like awareness against false rape accusations helps mostly black men
Intersectionality is a dangerous slippery slope
I think that's a very fair assessment. We are on the side of these men, though we address their issues in more general terms. We can think of the gay rights movement as a close relitive of our own that deals with specific things that we also deal with more generally.
I think we she raise our voices in areas where we have overlaps with the movement, like hey, we have a common goal here, let’s work towards this specific goal together, because I know one of the biggest issues they have that we share in common is domestic abuse not being taken seriously, female abuses in lesbian relationships and male victims in gay relationship being completely dismissed because of the narrative that men abuse and women get abused.
I know I'm a white name in the arguement 😛 but personally I think the LGBT rights movement is strong enough to stand on its own two feet, way stronger than the mens rights movement
just declaring ourselves non-aggressive is all it takes, they don't need our help, if anything we need theirs
Well more voices together becomes herder to dismiss, that why I think we should just worry on standing together on issues where we have overlap, help each other, showing we have an interest in common I think will help everyone in the long run.
yeah, that sounds like a great idea
