Or we can go by where tomato seems to be going and say that Judaism and Christianity are related but distinct traditions in which case heresy can’t be meaningfully used here
I don't care what is universally recognized. What Spanish inquisition did was it kept religious cohesion. Again you're imposing ur morality on history and failing to see it from their perspective. It was what had to be done.
Again, Jesus was the Son. Not a Jewish god but God.
I believe most Christians already moved passed the "Jews murdered Christ" thanks to unstoppable propaganda Jews keep putting out. So who cares what I think about the issue. Jesus hated the Jews and their practices and that hate was reciprocated.
Doesn't matter. They're a materialist ethnoreligion. And how anyone thinks Christianity has the core of it based on it beyond a series of stories for context is baffling.
Given the reformation was a thing that had nothing to do with Jews or muslims but sought justification in part because of the brutality and kleptocracy present in the Catholic Church that also fuelled the inquisition and the moors prior were in religious terms, as secure while not substantially persecuting Christian or Jewish minorities that seems like a weak argument.
We also pass judgement on history all the time and necessarily so. Whenever someone lands a punch that act henceforth is “in the past” but that doesn’t mean that you need contract amnesia immediately thereafter and must see that John was right to hit you from his perspective or fail to change your actions in future because there’s nothing you can do about hitting you in the past. Moral criticism is about attempting to reach a better world state by recognising actions that contribute or detract from that and history shows that the inquisition deeply detracted from that wellbeing.
As for who cares apparently you do. You brought it up
Also @ImATomato Christianity asserts that it relies on a series of stories for context. I agree Christianity is baffling, but that’s the doctrine
Finally Jews, christians and muslims assert that they all worship the same god even if they’re understanding is different / wrong
I wasn't trying to say Christianity was baffling. I was trying to say that it's baffling to think that it stems from what we today call Judaism
That’s the Christian claim though and it’s pretty central to the belief
Whether in those times Judaism was distinct from the doctrine we see today I don’t know, but it’s difficult to argue that Jesus wasn’t a part of the Jewish tradition of that time from a Christian perspective where Jesus himself asserts that he is and seeks legitimacy from Jewish prophecies and law
Guys
Macron’s boys are using live ammo on the yellow jackets now
epic
source?
you can literally look up “french government live ammunition”
Deployed, not used
As in they are on scene but no shots have been fired
The headlines are misleading in that regard
That part about abrahamites worshipping the same God is straight up false though. That is a theological unverisialist claim not supported by all abrahmites.
But they should be.
*Worship of the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Moses*
Same God, different views on what is heresy
No, that statement is so uneducated I want to blow my brains out
The Christian God dying for us is like the key concept of christianity but is lacking in the other faiths for one part
Krille that is a quality of the god, that is not who the god is. It’s the equivalent to you and your mates all agreeing that your dating sally, and agreeing that you’re all talking about the same sally, but not agreeing on much else
Christians assert that a key part of their faith is that the god of the Jews is the only god and that god sent down his son, which is also him, to be sacrificed to himself so that all could be saved
Now I agree that’s not a very coherent message
But that is the message the bible preaches
The Quran too all though that gets even weirder
"*that is a quality of the triangle, but that doesn't mean that isn't a square*"
I’m not a Christian krille so obviously I’m not sold on the idea but a central conception to many faiths is that they don’t need to be held to a rational standard and an understanding of the divine as inherently mysterious and unknowable.
I can recognise that a triangle is not a square while also recognising that some people genuinely think that it is
They are wrong, that doesn’t mean there arnt those who genuinely believe that however
The Abrahamic God is an Archontic infection of the human pysche it is not the Originator
This book is the death blow to the Abrahamics in all aspects it's unique dots that never been connected before this is now circulating underground here is your ticket to comprehension
