Ok, so here’s my two cents on the question of the day. The role of the state in society should be roughly the following:

a) ensure the existence of the proletarian dictatorship
b) enforce the constitution and the rights and duties enshrined therein
c) provide reasonable defence capability against any existential threats
d) perform necessary tasks and initiatives that go beyond the ability of non-state actors to perform

And not anything beyond this.
