if you want to talk about philisophical errors on outlook can we talk about the river of fire thing from the orthodoxes

2018-12-15 23:13:27 UTC

The thing about the river of fire being the same as the river of life?

2018-12-15 23:24:06 UTC

yes

2018-12-15 23:26:21 UTC

It’s not dogmatic that you have to believe that, but it makes a certain amount of sense

2018-12-16 00:02:19 UTC

Why should animals have rights?

2018-12-16 00:03:16 UTC

I know you should nt do nonsensical things on principle but I don't understand the argument from ppl on the right that animal testing expecially cosmetic testing on animals is inhumane

2018-12-16 00:04:35 UTC

We should use sex offenders for that kind of testing

2018-12-16 00:04:37 UTC

not joking

2018-12-16 00:04:40 UTC

instead of animals

Because when they become intelligent and form a society, they won't start enslaving us humans

2018-12-16 00:05:10 UTC

I mean you don't need to use animals for that when you have perverts that can just as easily fill the same purpose

Jokes aside, most people that say that says because they pity the animal, "think of their suffering"

2018-12-16 00:07:13 UTC

The part that I find ppl on the right saying this bothers me

2018-12-16 00:07:19 UTC

By right I mean JQ-woke right

Most of these people wouldn't mind a genocide on cockroaches, insects etc, even if they are a crucial part of the ecosystem, just because they're ugly and gross

2018-12-16 00:11:15 UTC

humans are biologically more empathetic towards animals than they are towards insects

2018-12-16 00:11:59 UTC

interacting with a roach does not benefit us in any significant way than it would have a human being thousands of years ago domesticating wolves for hunting

2018-12-16 00:12:48 UTC

well technically insects are their own category and they are important to ecosystems

2018-12-16 00:12:57 UTC

but i cant ever feel anything for a roach

2018-12-16 00:13:26 UTC

but i would feel empathetic if i saw a dog being attacked on the street

2018-12-16 00:14:34 UTC

I would say that some of the roles animals have in our societies is dictated by culture and it should stay that way... in other cases well.. needless suffering is just needless.

I'm just correcting you scientifically, insects are Arthropods and Arthropods are from the Kingdom Animalia in Biology

Don't really care much about animals, just feel they have a important role in the ecosystem and thus should be preserved, same as Plants, Fungi etc

2018-12-16 00:17:32 UTC

So I would have a problem with people killing a dog but not really with people killing a pig but even with the pig I would say that it should still be put down without the needless suffering.

Yeah, animals have different roles based on culture too, killing a Cow in India would be blasphemy, but in most other regions a Cow is just Meat and Milk

2018-12-16 00:19:03 UTC

yup

2018-12-16 00:19:19 UTC

its intersting how cows became such a sacred thing in India

2018-12-16 00:19:29 UTC

theyre such a good source of meat and milk

2018-12-16 00:19:41 UTC

ive never bothered to read up on the history myself

So doing a quick research apparently in Hinduism eating meat isn't very sacred, doubt that many of them are vegetarians but it isn't very sacred, and the cow is associated with the mother of all the gods in Hindu, guess we know now

2018-12-16 00:23:16 UTC

so cows are literally gods?

2018-12-16 00:24:07 UTC

maybe the shit we find in indian streets dont come from indians but from cows

I heard that some of the shitting is because of cows, but in recent times the shitting problem isn't as big as it was

2018-12-16 00:26:00 UTC

well apparently india is turning into a superpower by 2020

2018-12-16 00:26:14 UTC

i reckon they can afford better bathroom stalls in the rural areas now
