What used to be yellow page journalism has become the entirety of journalism and this needs to change. I very much think that journalists *should* be a serious, investigative cadre in society, and that they have a key role to play, *but only if they are investigative journalists.* Sort of detectives acting on the behalf of the people.
This is not what it currently is, anywhere. The field is in a state of utter paralysis.
```like their bourgeois liberal media counterparts, they just do "muh social issues" shit```
```Materialism is the Two Sides of the same coin, Capitalists and Socialists```
Materialism is a philosophical ontology which maintains that the world of matter is real and exists independently of the mind. Its similar to, and often overlapping with - even if distinct from - *realism,* another school of thought. Realism though includes some idealistic schools in it I think, like objective idealism.
Ok Wikipedia
that is not wikipedia
lmao
wtf
u are
I am not Wikipedia
I ain't no bot
how dare you
fak u Storm
go away
that though *is* what materialism is
and that has no connection to capitalism
yes
this is why *Marxism* is materialist
but why capitalist philosophies might be idealist
> it's completely fucking retarded
maintaining that the world exists independently of the mind is retarded
*.....ok then*
Capitalists want us to be individuals in a Global Market devoid of any identity, culture, tribe, tradition or custom.. they want us all to be the Same/Equal, so they can sell their product to us which is supposed to give us a sustaining meaning in life
yes but that is not materialist
That is how i see Libertarians argue
that's just "muh profit motive"
"muh incentives"
You define words in ways that benefit your ideology.. which is great i guess..
selfishness for the material
uh, no
materialism is actually something that has existed for hundreds of years
its not materialist but it is very hedonistic and bland
its a school of thought in philosophy
the maximum profits and pleasures for porky plz
currency=potential things
and itself it makes no claim on hedonism being good or something, its just a statement on what existences are primary and what are emergent, etc.
im saying capitalism is very hedonistic incase you were wondering not materialism
in fact Marxists were often anti-hedonists, and urged the importance of socialist and communist virtue, and made *materialist arguments for this*
ffs
