tbh any transgender person who has like legitimately the female neurochemistry is legit and the transition process is probably the right for them, but the huge uptick in transgenderism from past few years seems mostly psychological. I can't think of what non-psychological, neurochemical shift could account for it.

I honestly think that being sexually frustrated and unable to find mates and then projecting your own attraction to the opposite sex onto yourself, i.e, *becoming the object of your desires when you can't attain those objects of desire.* That's probably what is going on at least for some of these people, and I think some of the detransitioning cases point to this being true.
