we don't need to side with capital and I never argued we should

2018-12-27 07:10:57 UTC

Even a Richard Dawkins who has done considerable work with in this field has come out against this tech being used on humans

2018-12-27 07:11:09 UTC

I merely showed that merging-of-nations is more or less inevitable as material and technical conditions evolve

2018-12-27 07:11:25 UTC

to just slide aside all concerns in the Haze of Progressive Fervor is a mistake and makes you frankly a Brainlet

2018-12-27 07:11:43 UTC

you, however, view everything via idealist lens - me saying that X happens due to Y must mean that I want X to happen due to Y and it could never be true that I want X to happen due to Z!

2018-12-27 07:11:49 UTC

brilliant!

2018-12-27 07:11:54 UTC

You have ideological investment in this technology.

2018-12-27 07:11:57 UTC

At least instating communism, you said you’re riding the bourgeois wagon but yeah

2018-12-27 07:12:01 UTC

yes, moral investment

2018-12-27 07:12:04 UTC

you, moral abortions, do not

2018-12-27 07:12:39 UTC

in fact! your investment is *against* the technology that can help billions

2018-12-27 07:12:44 UTC

now that's a cross to bear indeed!

2018-12-27 07:12:52 UTC

It’s really funny because capitalism and communism are both materialist ideologies

2018-12-27 07:13:01 UTC

Materialism is pretty dandy yes

2018-12-27 07:13:15 UTC

Yes capitalist materialism is so based

2018-12-27 07:13:20 UTC

materialism is

2018-12-27 07:13:29 UTC

pretending that all materialism is capitalism is yet another addition to weak arguments yes

2018-12-27 07:13:30 UTC

go on

2018-12-27 07:15:08 UTC

Communism = capitalism

2018-12-27 07:15:13 UTC

2018-12-27 07:16:48 UTC

2018-12-27 07:16:52 UTC

2018-12-27 07:17:48 UTC

It is ideology yes

2018-12-27 07:17:54 UTC

astute observation

2018-12-27 07:18:11 UTC

When you start genetic editing it will start with curing diseases at first, it will make users much more reproductively desirable so people will in fact start using it and users will replace non users in the population.

We already have no idea as to the implications of this but .. After the technology progresses enough, human engineers will start to look into Biological Enhancement and sell that. Again, users will likely replace non users and with time the tech will be mainstream.

With the development of AI (not even general intellegence AI) which is already happening, you will start to see that the AI will be able to come up with better mutations than human engineers simply because it can process more variables.

With Time, as humans start outsourcing their Evolution to this AI which doesn't need to be Terminater Level btw, it will slowly start coming with mutations that are good for humans as well as itself.

It will create mutations that make us dependent on the AI, and you will have this electronic phenotype over take our Natural Evolution, subjecting us to well, it's service. It gets more complicated but that's the best i can lay this case out.

@Gerçek Nootropics doesn't demand genetic editing, but even beyond that genetic editing will have certain very beneficial applications which will demand use at some point in future; too many good things can be achieved with these limited applications (such as removing deadly inherited diseases, etc).

And these basic applications (alongside future advanced nootropics) will be enough to yield the outcomes I've talked about for the past few hours. AI itself is not a necessary factor in this.

@Bee Third position does what was previously thought impossible and combines the worst aspects of the first two positions.
