Hello, Hello, Hello!
Is there any good read on why Robert e lee was a military genius and was able to extend the civil war as far as possible through his generalship and marshaling of resources.
I prefer to think he was a bad general. At least by Sun Tzu standards
He had a couple of chances to end the war early and didn't take them. Instead he fought a prolonged defensive war
it ended in the lands being scorched, and the South gaining re-entry on harsh terms due to animosity build up over that period.
Can you expand, pretty interested. There is a myth built around him and the civil war.
North was going to eventually win since it dominated the finances and industry.
This is true
that is why his choice to fight a defensive war was insane
Early on the North had almost 0 military
The South was able to raise a large number of militias quickly and defeated the initial Union army
Lee chose NOT to continue to DC and seize it while it was undefended
Saying they werent there to conquer, only secede
Yes, that was strange
Not taking over dc
Lincoln himself was in DC at the same moment i can recall
Kindred by choice
"Elective Affinities (German: Die Wahlverwandtschaften), also translated under the title Kindred by Choice, is the third novel by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, published in 1809. The title is taken from a scientific term once used to describe the tendency of chemical species to combine with certain substances or species in preference to others. The novel is based on the metaphor of human passions being governed or regulated by the laws of chemical affinity, and examines whether or not the science and laws of chemistry undermine or uphold the institution of marriage, as well as other human social relations. "
I'd love a report on Elective Affinities very actual book
@The Roman Emperor here, i put it as an image, so that others can read it without downloading the pdf
