So-called sterile materials, including disinfectants and protective masks, have been stolen from several Berlin hospitals. Among them are also from wards for children suffering from cancer.
On a Charité ward where newborns with incurable brain tumors are treated. Where children suffering from leukemia whose immune system has been shut down for stem cell transplants are lying. Where small patients fight for survival, large amounts of sterile supplies have been stolen in this sensitive area.
Unknown persons stole a considerable amount of disinfectants, breathing masks, gloves and protective clothing from a room in the children's intensive care unit 39 i of the Virchow Clinic (Wedding).
