And always at least one autist who is a big Shadiversity fan or Skallagrim or similar

2020-02-12 00:02:10 UTC

Who will snort and sneer and repeat all these memes "muh nippon steel"

2020-02-12 00:02:12 UTC

And it goes on and on

2020-02-12 00:02:26 UTC

did japs even have steel

2020-02-12 00:02:28 UTC

I mean, all weapons are specialised. There is no perfect weapon. Katanas are good for cutting, shit against armor, which is the case for a lot of swords, but not as much for some. Like, I know some katana styles incorporate halfswording, but you couldn't use it like a spear.

2020-02-12 00:02:37 UTC

Isnt Japan a mineral-less dump

2020-02-12 00:03:00 UTC

ching chong pls gib metal

2020-02-12 00:03:05 UTC

A katana is just a backsword you can grip with two hands

2020-02-12 00:03:07 UTC

It's a sidearm

2020-02-12 00:03:09 UTC

here have some fish

2020-02-12 00:03:24 UTC

Hey guys

2020-02-12 00:03:28 UTC

2020-02-12 00:03:29 UTC

2020-02-12 00:03:39 UTC

Swords are mostly sidearms or for dueling/fighting at closed range. They aren't really battlefield weapons.

2020-02-12 00:03:47 UTC

based

2020-02-12 00:04:05 UTC

Nippon Steel was a low quality steel that required massive refinement to make suitable. Once the steel was refined though, it was just as good as Euro steel

2020-02-12 00:04:07 UTC

zap

2020-02-12 00:04:14 UTC

welp ye

2020-02-12 00:04:21 UTC

Japan has some omega low quality iron

2020-02-12 00:04:50 UTC

probably the lowest quality on Earth

2020-02-12 00:04:52 UTC

Steel is Steel, its just a question of how much refinement it needs to get to that Steel level

2020-02-12 00:04:56 UTC

Swords have the mystique and symbolism they do because they were the weapon used for self-defence for most of history

2020-02-12 00:04:58 UTC

efficiency

2020-02-12 00:05:07 UTC

thats why you had to fold japanese bullshit 200+ times

2020-02-12 00:05:13 UTC

with good iron I can make 10 swords instead of 1 out of garbage iron

2020-02-12 00:05:14 UTC

Every man once he was grown up would be expected to have and carry a sword

2020-02-12 00:05:16 UTC

it was garbage and that was the only way to refine it

2020-02-12 00:05:21 UTC

And to use that sword in defence of the law if he was called upon

2020-02-12 00:05:32 UTC

Nippon style is fine but overrated. The intricate process of folding is actually to compensate for its many impurities. It's also not a unique forging process, similar methods are found in roman steel forging.

2020-02-12 00:05:33 UTC

that makes swords difficult asf to acquire in large numbers

2020-02-12 00:05:40 UTC

For example back in the day if you were being robbed or something you didn't call the police, you called for _help_

2020-02-12 00:05:51 UTC

And it was expected that if you were a God-fearing man with any balls at all

2020-02-12 00:05:55 UTC

You would actually help those in need

2020-02-12 00:06:02 UTC

With the sword that you carried everywhere

2020-02-12 00:06:12 UTC

Meaning Japan would probably have been made into a ching chong province if it wasnt for being an easily defended island

2020-02-12 00:06:32 UTC

lucky japs

2020-02-12 00:06:41 UTC

too bad Bong got the good iron and coal instead

2020-02-12 00:06:44 UTC

The Samurai mostly fought other Samurai and not foreign armies
