Star Wars legends: features gay married couple with adoptive daughter
Disney Canon: Features many gay and bisexual characters but establishes the Galatic empire as homophobic.
BOOGIE INCOMING
Fel Empire wouldn't tolerate gays, right?
I thought that was Starlord for a moment
god damn you JJ Abrams
Yeah I guess. Some good media in the Disney Canon but the way they ended the Galatic Civil War makes zero sense, contingency plan or not.
Aftermath is pretty good so far, but I get the feeling I'd enjoy Heir to the Empire more.
See, in legends the empire actually becomes more effective after Palpatine's death, under the leadership of sane people like Pellaeon and Thrawn, and the empire basically survives into the foreseeable future, as the Fel Empire, before it's assimilated by Krayt's Sith Empire.

@Wan6Saber This 100%
THE FEL EMPIRE > FIRST ORDER
And the New Republic
and heck, the CIS too
the CIS is a lolbert paradise
Err, I really like Darth Krayt tho
Corporations literally control it
Sith Empire under Vitiate seems to be the longest lasting Sith government in exile.
I also like the portrayal of sane Imperials, with half of them betraying Darth Caedus, meanwhile in the Disney Canon the entire First Order remain loyal to Supreme Leader Kylo Ren despite him being a whiny manbaby who allowed the biggest theat to their order to escape because he was too busy tangling with Luke's ghost.
But the First Order is an impossible regime, there to look cool and menacing and not to aid world building.
Disney changes the Empire from "Formidabble but overconfident" to "Even more formidable, but utterly *incompentent"*
I like their ships, though, but hate the lack of diversity of their fleet. The Resurgent Class is a great ship, but its larger than the Imperial Class Star Destroyer and the FO seem to have no other ships aside from even bigger ships. No cruisers or frigates, unlike the empire.
There's no sense of triumph when the antagonist has a planet destroying superlaser and is defeated by slipping on a banana peel and shooting themselves in the face with it.
True.
