genetics is next semester
i assume that having a zero on the alleles just means that they couldn't be read properly, and so i guess that whole SNP is less useful. but i dunno. ty anyway.
I don't know much on genetics but the data science part I might be able to help
Would have to look at their methodology
well usually when comparing SNPs to see relatedness, you would expect the alleles in a position to match that of the data you are comparing it with. but if a bunch of them are zeros then it' probably not useful, but then again i don't know the signifigance of the RSID column. doesn't matter. i'll look this stuff up more lol
The website says zero is missing data, which I assume would be a problem with the sample
i'm considering removing any rows that have alleles with zeros, but i'm not sure if keeping the chromosome, position and rsid, would have some use. so maybe keeping the rows would be better.
Are you cross-checking on some database? In which case keeping the missing rsIDs would be useful for extrapolation I suppose
But it's what, 700,000 snps?
i might just keep the data, and when doing things with the alleles, i'll just code out the ones with zeros to stop them affecting the results.
You could just code them as dummy variables if you don't want to delete anything
yeah probably best. there are 670k snps, and only about 1200 have zeros.
Seems inconsequential tbh
But better safe than sorry
What program are you tabulating in
just using excel atm. i'll probably use python or R to actually do anything with it. I'm only starting. just wanted to know if anything needed to be cleaned up beforehand.
Can anyone repost the screencap of the most visited reddit subreddits by j00s ? I forgot to save it
there might have been something interesting in it, want to double check
nope, but i can imagine.
no
mongols?
i don't view finns as mongols
The Swedes (yellow). Most of them were in the west of Finland.
In South-West Finland there were the real/original Finns (blue color).
The Finns often lived together with the Swedes (bright green color).
In the east of Finland - Karelians and Savonian (green color).
In the north of Finland - the Saami (pink color).
Orange color — Kven people.
they are mongooids
wow, just started tps part 2
i like how the swedes are represented as yellow. lol they literally are yellow.
damn are those nice wife tricks
missed pt 2
behind on a lot
finns are mongrels!!
