Imo the Governor was better in the show.
Aside from him sleeping with Andrea.
he does the same with pyramids - this would be more convincing if there were an argument about architectural methods or something, but we can just as easily speculate that pyramids are a hallmark of ancient architecture because they are the simplest way to build a stable structure with height
But their attempts to emulate comic Governor make the character seem inconsistent. They couldn't decide if they wanted The Governor to a normal guy turned evil or an evil guy turned slightly more evil and unhinged.

@Nerthulas Sure I will grant that, but it would also be spurious to draw other conclusions from the swastika being present, as it is only possible to see the meaning of the swastika in the northern hemisphere.
