only way to verify this is to actually send probes with sync'd gravity sensors to the moon at sides and front and back. if the gravity is higher on the front but lower on the back, then it's partially proven

it's completely proven with that and having to scan the sides to find the center of gravity, if it's not in center position. then it's proven
