So I am doing a family project. Kind of a 'legacy' and a decoration at the same time. I'm taking plain smooth stones and turning them into something akin to a mobile marker or (postdeath) a mobile tombstone. My idea here is to get one big rock with a family motto or something that serves as guidance to my future descendants. and then one small stone for each individual in the family, with maybe a quote or something on the rocks to pass forward into the 'family wisdom' so to speak.

I kinda hope it will serve as a family treasure and heirloom of sorts, as well as a tradition of adding to the pile of our family and showing the children where they came from with physical stones and quotes

I am looking for suggestions on what the most important information would be to condense to future generations, I'd like to get other opinions on it - not much room on a stone so it has to be limited to only the most important things/data

Yeah it's basically free, and has deep meaning and serves multiple functions

id make several brainstorms onto paper first.. things you want to be remembered for

for me, it would say things like love, light, peace

maybe my hopes for my descendants

something for them to always remember

i want to guide them into wisdom, and success, and also into being warriors against evil.

@Dustin Nemos I wrote letters to my two kids before having spinal surgery just in case. A week after surgery I almost died but didn’t. I stuck with what is REALLY important in life. Values I’ve always tried to model for them. I will look up some quotes that might fit you.
