how deep is the ocean there
well it's off the shallow shelf so it could be deep enough
the mariana trench is 7 miles i don't think it that deep there
according to the conversion website, it's 9.6km = 6 miles roughly

we all know these "earthquake sensors" monitor a whole lot more

drive too close to them in a semi fully loaded and u can trigger the sensor to think there was a 6.0 at the location
