i could probably work there
I intend to buy enough land there that it will be impossible to be seen by any potential neighbors
I'm over living around people
I am not an urbanite and never will be
why I moved to SF, I can't honestly tell you
money
the one good thing about CA's bloated red-tape bureaucracy is that most licenses you get here require so much BS and fees they usually translate well into other states
other than I thought I could find a job at the time and riding motorcycles year round was attractive
@northern_confederate it was more than money, it was the fact that I'd been searching for 3 years for a decent job after college and couldn't find one where I was
and the navy wouldn't give me the officer billet i wanted
so i came here because there was work in late 2010
@northern_confederate I lost 6 job offers my last semester of college
how
I guess I should say they were rescinded, everyone saw the writing on the economic wall
it took me a few months to get an offer but they didn't take it away
I graduated in may '08 trying to get into an investment fund
oh lol
the market crashed in september, I spent the last year of college talking about how I wouldn't have a job in all my 400 level econ classes
pretty great feeling to spend 4 years busting your ass just to be told none of that mattered
with predictions that accurate no wonder why they couldn't hire you as an economist
I expected the market to be shit so I worked my way through and commuted to a cheap state school
2 degrees, 0 job offers coming out of school
I worked, but not in my field
did IT shit
went to schol for polisci/economics
Isn't polisci a meme degree
i'd argue that a decade ago it wasn't
probably depends more on the department/profs
like nigga just be jewish like get a job with your uncle
I think I had a pretty good education
I'm glad I added econ to the mix
I didn't really have any SJW indoctrination
the worst were some globalist overtones, but I never had a prof that pushed that
I didn't have much indoctrination other than muh free global markets
one of the first things I read in college was Huntington's "Clash Of Civilizations" which was quite formative to my beliefs
especially having watched 9/11 only a few years before
and having my friends sent off to war at the time
psych/philosophy working in IT here, having to explain that shit during interviews is always awful
I had several friends sent to the iraq surge in fallujah while I was in college
felt weird man
