I mean... an Initiative based "turn" order or time unit system isn't nearly as bad as a classic TBRPG, but it gets old and gimmicky.

2019-01-12 17:47:37 UTC

Fpsrpg needs to just die as a genre. They always end up relying on sponges

2019-01-12 17:48:01 UTC

That's an idiotic statement.

2019-01-12 17:48:09 UTC

Every game relies on sponges.

2019-01-12 17:48:10 UTC

I wouldn't say that FO4 was a great shooter, it relies on the trope of just giving more dangerous enemies more HP without changing how they fight or think

2019-01-12 17:48:27 UTC

Oh I absolutely agree the AI needs a revamp

2019-01-12 17:48:36 UTC

That's what mods are for

2019-01-12 17:48:43 UTC

I was able to kill almost any enemy with an SNG with the bleed effect

2019-01-12 17:48:49 UTC

I would say it was a mediocre shooter at best

2019-01-12 17:48:53 UTC

Every game has some sort of sponginess, but fpsrpg has to rely on that dialed up to eleven

2019-01-12 17:48:59 UTC

Not really

2019-01-12 17:49:20 UTC

Good FPSRPG rely on new and interesting enemies with varied abilities and reactions

2019-01-12 17:49:44 UTC

Which is, honestly, just good games in general

2019-01-12 17:50:03 UTC

Good thing nobody actually knows how to make enemies interesting any more

2019-01-12 17:50:08 UTC

Oof

2019-01-12 17:50:36 UTC

Although i suppose titanfall 2 had some interesting enemy variations, limited as they were

2019-01-12 17:50:39 UTC

The sad part is it's not hard to make dangerously competent AI

2019-01-12 17:50:57 UTC

In fact the difficulty is making the AI retarded enough for players to compete

2019-01-12 17:51:23 UTC

And nobody wants an ai that provides challenge these days

2019-01-12 17:52:38 UTC

It's sad but true.

2019-01-12 17:53:23 UTC

I mean no matter how competent the AI, Raiders or Gunners aren't gonna be much of a threat if you mulch them with a minigun as you stomp around in T-45+

2019-01-12 17:53:45 UTC

But I wish there were more sniper and stealth enemies

2019-01-12 17:54:03 UTC

>Not using the Space marine armor mod
Absolutly heretical

2019-01-12 17:54:05 UTC

Like you're walking around and some Gunner Sniper sees you and fucking brains you

2019-01-12 17:54:24 UTC

So you start a fight at like 10% hp because lmao you didn't see it coming

2019-01-12 17:54:56 UTC

Ammo variants used by specific enemies would have been nice too, with a smart AI selection system

2019-01-12 17:55:08 UTC

Good thing is

2019-01-12 17:55:11 UTC

Games aren't good anymore

2019-01-12 17:55:20 UTC

Not setting your HP to 1/1 once you exit the vault, fucking casual

2019-01-12 17:55:23 UTC

2019-01-12 17:55:27 UTC

So for instance, a Grenadier with a pulse grenade would pop it at your PA and force you out of it, then chuck incendiaries

2019-01-12 17:55:37 UTC

Fuck

2019-01-12 17:55:41 UTC

I forgot I was on speaker

2019-01-12 17:55:46 UTC

So the wife just hears "Attention all libtards"

2019-01-12 17:55:50 UTC

🤦

2019-01-12 17:55:52 UTC

Or a Sniper would load AP to punch through your helmet

2019-01-12 17:56:32 UTC

Theres a reason i enjoy tarkov, and its because half of the time they overtweak the ai so that a bunch of shitlords start pushing you whilst some of them run suppressive fire

2019-01-12 17:56:41 UTC

^

2019-01-12 17:56:49 UTC

the Hunting shotgun was my favorite weapon in NV due to versatility of the 12ga and ease of maintainence

2019-01-12 17:57:08 UTC

though once you got the right perk you could repair it with about any longgun, or atleast any shotgun

2019-01-12 17:57:21 UTC

Honestly a good combat change for Fallout would be Stimpacks give you only 50% up-front HP, then HOT, and too many will actively poison you and deduct HP instead of healing
