Yeah the ARs in pistol calibers and .300 memeout seem to me to be best in a short weapon, whereas 5.56, 6.5 Grendel, 6.8 SPC etc work best in longer barrels

Don’t do an AR9. They have a lot of parts breakages because of bolt velocity.
