Then he goes and does this shit
Fuckin lmoa
haha chunky technical
RIP Stg.44 charging handle conversion @Sadmin
Just got off the phone with the Century guy who was in charge of the C93 project
“I don’t think it would work very well without some additional engineering work. On the rifle caliber roller delayed blowback guns, the charging handle doesn’t just fold over to be out of the way. As the handle is drawn out from the folded position to the open position it cams back the cocking tube with a huge amount of force, which in turn transfers through the carrier, and pulls the locking block away from the roller and allows them to retract.
If it weren’t for this action the carrier would be very difficult to move to the rear, because instead of simply pulling the weight of the parts and springs to the rear as you would on a lot of other guns (like the STG44, AK, or whatever) you’d be pulling the rollers out of their locking position and then pulling the weight of parts and springs.“
Apparently I’d either have to be Hoopty level of Chad or would have to figure out how to bring the same camming force as the forward handle to the side.
Raifu is getting some Malaysian food
I read that as 7.62 MEATBALL for a second
I thought they were shooting at the hurricane at first.
That's a beautiful damned rifle
Always loved the odd aesthetics of many French rifles
@Dataman. It would "work". It would be completely pointless and probably would not extract well but not unsafe.
If he wants a bolt action rifle in 7.62x39 they are widely available and it would actually be accurate and have a useable magazine
I have a similar sporterized by someones grandpa rifle. They are perfectly suitable to hunting and target shooting although of course heavier and more delicate (I.e. rust) than modern guns.
Maybe you would need some kind of condom to get the shoulder to fit properly in the chamber since it doesn't grab at the rim
@Detroit Lion How's that stuff shoot? I still have over 1000 rounds of ZQI I bought during the Walmart clearance and a bunch of Hirtenberger, but I'd like something that's not bi-metal (the Hirt is, the ZQI isn't.)
@keldoclock it was a dumbass mistake on his part, he thought the 7.62 on the side meant 7.62x39
@Advicedog I haven't shot it yet. Unfortunately the L2A2 Serp is also Bi-metal.
I thought it was a meme
So, are these shit?
And if so, why
dicc stuck in a clock
The fuck are these two
you have any common rounds to compare it to?
could be something like 7.5 french or swiss
I got some 7.62x54R
that'd be a good comparison for me
I would say for sure 7.5 Swiss, as for the other one I can't really tell. I might be able to make out 7.3 (?) 1947 can't really tell what it is though
Just check a headstamp guide
1947 marked next to a 7.62x54R
yeah the neck on it really screams Swiss to me
