I take my carry gun and shoot all the ammo that’s in it periodically, then clean the gun
stick with the known performers
don’t ever let ammo sit for super long periods of time unless it’s made for shelf life.
HSTs, Golt Dots, XTPs
Spam can ammo
Because carry guns fill with lint, get sweaty, etc
I have had two glock extractors fail due to lint
It's 144gr I thikn
Exactly. @Innaswamp is right.
The ammo I’m currently working on stockpiling is 7n6
Why
Spam cans with sealed ammo.
@Bald Eagle Jerk carry whatever weight you prefer, some prefer heavy for caliber
I mean, I have a ton of ball ammo on the shelf, guess I can’t talk
I prefer +P 124gr 9mm Gold Dot for energy and expansion
I started with 124gr +P for carry, but all the new stuff I buy is 147gr standard pressure
the 147gr HST performs very well
Especially for the single stack carry guns
+p is quickly becoming standard pressure
124 +P GDGP out of a Glock 43 hurts
The smaller the gun the less of a reason to use +p
watch his 9mm ammo quest
I'll watch that in a bit.
Or: go watch tnoutdoors9’s ammo testing
that too
Anyone know if the sealant is the only factor with long shelf life on 7n6 or do the corrosive primers contribute to long shelf life somehow too? I’ve heard conflicting things.
Shame he’s not doing it any more.
I'm wondering if I should use different ammo in my handguns. I have a CZ 75 P07 Duty and a Sig P938...
again, depends on how the pistol handles it
I would recommend 147gr HST for the 938
and whatever you want for the P07
Buy a few boxes of good ammo and see what runs the best in what
147 HST is my choice as well
@tumble 7N6 will last forever and its not because of the sealant or corrosive primer
Problem is I'm a po boy atm...
I have guns that will not eat certain ammo
But I still have a ton of gold dots on the shelf
Can't really spend $100 on a range trip for testing lol
Quit buying fast food for a month
lol
