2018-11-20 22:12:24 UTC

regulations create monopolies

2018-11-20 22:12:38 UTC

and not that regulations stop monopolies

2018-11-20 22:12:44 UTC
2018-11-20 22:12:55 UTC

Eh, anyway I gtg y'all

2018-11-20 22:13:06 UTC

cya

2018-11-20 22:13:08 UTC

why do u think they exist

2018-11-20 22:13:12 UTC

and that lobbyists push for them

2018-11-20 22:14:48 UTC

"drugs are a bad thing, but legalizing them will make them a good thing"

2018-11-20 22:14:55 UTC

actually

2018-11-20 22:15:00 UTC

...we need to find a way to reform our Health Care System.

2018-11-20 22:15:04 UTC

2018-11-20 22:15:22 UTC

"drugs are a bad thing but to stop people from being beheaded and gunned down day after day we should regulate and tax them"

2018-11-20 22:16:14 UTC

Cartels will just keep selling their strong versions of the drugs

2018-11-20 22:16:25 UTC

i thought the market regulates itself?

2018-11-20 22:16:27 UTC

while people get addicted to the weak legal versions

2018-11-20 22:16:43 UTC

@beans I don't see how that applies here

2018-11-20 22:16:57 UTC

why will they sell strong versions if the market allows everyone to compete?

2018-11-20 22:17:29 UTC

Because people get addicted to the weaker versions and then they work their way up to the stronger

2018-11-20 22:17:36 UTC

why wont stronger versions be in stores?

2018-11-20 22:18:17 UTC

Because regulations exists that the markets had created so they didn't look bad

2018-11-20 22:18:30 UTC

Governments that legalize drugs are taxing them

2018-11-20 22:18:52 UTC

why would the government regulate something its getting all that money off of

2018-11-20 22:18:59 UTC

selling something illegal skyrockets the price way more than any regulation could

2018-11-20 22:19:10 UTC

for instance

2018-11-20 22:19:18 UTC

weed and tobacco cost relatively the same amount of money to grow

2018-11-20 22:19:24 UTC

yet weed is much more expensive

2018-11-20 22:19:38 UTC

especially in states where its illegal

2018-11-20 22:19:49 UTC

The more expensive something is, the less people will want to get it

2018-11-20 22:19:54 UTC

yes

2018-11-20 22:20:01 UTC

cartels have to smuggle shipments across the border

2018-11-20 22:20:06 UTC

cartel weed is junk

2018-11-20 22:20:06 UTC

Congratulations, @BW10 for reaching level 6!

2018-11-20 22:21:58 UTC

@flash not necessarily true. Sometimes when the price rises, it makes people want the good even more, because people think price=value, therefore higher price=higher value. the entire jewelry and luxury goods industries thrives on this principle

2018-11-20 22:22:23 UTC

Yes but we arn't talking about that

2018-11-20 22:22:31 UTC

but for weed this strategy will not work

2018-11-20 22:22:39 UTC

Was about to say that but ok
