@JDB Yes. Besides that, a basic understanding of one programming language. That understanding can be put to use in another programming language that's useful to you (with a small learning curve)

Any thoughts on kotlin?

2019-02-09 17:04:55 UTC

Usually schools teach what companies ask them to teach their students. That's not necessarily what you should be learning to stay ahead. They want people to learn Java in school, because everybody hates it. That's why they force it upon you.

2019-02-09 17:05:38 UTC

Yeah, it's a great game. I have ps4, I wanna get rdr2

2019-02-09 17:05:49 UTC

why owuld a company what uni students to learn java because they hate it?

2019-02-09 17:05:52 UTC

there must be a reason

2019-02-09 17:05:59 UTC

2019-02-09 17:07:17 UTC

Cool, I have to expand sometime soon to some new games

2019-02-09 17:07:28 UTC

Kotlin is good, but I don't trust Google and their new development environments/languages that change every year. With hybrid app development, you don't have to re-learn everything after a year or two. That speeds things up for you and your team.

There's things like Dart combined with flutter coming out now for android development. I'd check that out before kotlin

2019-02-09 17:07:29 UTC

I don't even game really, lol last thing I played was megaman X on my ipad

2019-02-09 17:08:34 UTC
