@JDB With your work ethic you won't have trouble finding a position. I'm only worrying about the fact that you might be pushing yourself too hard. I can tell because I'm doing that at the moment. Scheduling buffers and having rest might benefit you. These are things you can't see in the numbers, but you'll feel them. You're not an emotionless machine, so don't treat yourself like one 😃

So true

2019-02-26 00:09:07 UTC

so - i guess that i shouldnt go to college - i could just move out now, and during my free time develop my skills - apply thjem to my current job - and look forother jobs on the side

2019-02-26 00:09:41 UTC

my head has been all over the place lately, i keep on changing plans

2019-02-26 00:09:45 UTC

That's what I would do, but it carries risk

2019-02-26 00:09:47 UTC

no certainty

2019-02-26 00:10:07 UTC

Exactly. Think it through and see where you'll be after calculating the obvious factors at play

2019-02-26 00:10:24 UTC

I'm back and... goddammit.

2019-02-26 00:10:29 UTC

@Longshanks Jesus Christ.

2019-02-26 00:10:32 UTC

xy what do you reckon - shall i go to college ?

2019-02-26 00:10:46 UTC

Can I please return to this server at some time other than depravity or silence?

2019-02-26 00:11:07 UTC

@JDB If you don't have to, don't.

2019-02-26 00:11:32 UTC

Think about it in return on investment terms.

2019-02-26 00:11:35 UTC

@secrite speaking of JC, there is a Church dedicated to the spinning robot pussy in TFM's server

2019-02-26 00:11:41 UTC

🙏

2019-02-26 00:12:05 UTC

So, you calculate the ROI of college. Now compare that to the ROI of apprenticeship. Compare those two to the ROI of simple cert chasing.

2019-02-26 00:12:21 UTC

Make it easy on yourself and just calculate the payback period.

2019-02-26 00:12:38 UTC

@JDB Here is another question: Do you want to work in operations/support or engineering/development? If you want the former, don't attend college and instead get certifications for those roles/niches. If you want the latter, either attend college for Computer Science/Engineering or simply learn the skills and develop a portfolio to show off.

2019-02-26 00:13:17 UTC

Do you want to be a technical dude long term or go management? That also requires a unique background.

2019-02-26 00:13:21 UTC

Hey all. How is it going?

2019-02-26 00:13:28 UTC
2019-02-26 00:13:37 UTC

i want to work with great people

2019-02-26 00:13:46 UTC

Management doesn't require much more than reading the art of war, rules of power, charisma myth, and peter drucker.

2019-02-26 00:13:48 UTC

Oh, ha.

2019-02-26 00:13:54 UTC

You might as well give that up right now.

2019-02-26 00:14:15 UTC

Or really double down.

2019-02-26 00:14:39 UTC

"I want to work with great people. I want to marry a NAWALT. I want to win the lottery. I want to save the west."

2019-02-26 00:15:03 UTC

Only one of those has any chance of succeeding.

2019-02-26 00:15:07 UTC

And that's winning the lottery.

2019-02-26 00:15:16 UTC

I want to cure my autism

2019-02-26 00:15:22 UTC

Try keto.

2019-02-26 00:15:27 UTC

^ 📝 @Xychotic

2019-02-26 00:15:42 UTC

Now, that's bitter af.

2019-02-26 00:15:49 UTC

I do work with some pretty great people.

2019-02-26 00:16:13 UTC

But they aren't the titans I would prefer. Because that sort of person doesn't even travel in packs.

2019-02-26 00:16:18 UTC

from my experience I found controlling food intake is the best for dealing with autism at work @JDB

2019-02-26 00:16:34 UTC

don't eat until around 2-3 PM

2019-02-26 00:16:45 UTC

I think autism is a symptom of low fat from the mother.

2019-02-26 00:16:51 UTC

And during the upbringing.

2019-02-26 00:16:52 UTC

most the day's work for IT guys happens in the last 2 hours of work
