I expect something like 90% of people to be redundant by 2040. There are only 2 real ways to avoid suffering in such a scenario.

1. Buy Bitcoin (I keep saying this, but you won't listen)
You'll be a billionaire in that world.

2. Be a programmer. Preferably in the direction of AI and automation. You'll hopefully be replaced last or not at all.

Python isn't perfect by any means, but a lot of scienetists are taught it and that's part of the reason it's used in Data Science and AI so much now. Besides that the community is great and you can make anything really quickly using open packages.
