i dont mind it, money is money
Okay, do they pay you by the hour?
nope, it's salaried
paid per month
ah, I hate those jobs.
i don't mind it - he just doesn't allow any headphones on and it's a phone in company
That's the way they milk you for more.
good experience moving forward
Well bro, there's plenty money to be made in programming...
yep - he tries getting me to stay an hour longer
Is there something youre not telling us
i'm leaving in a couple weeks so either way i'm getting the money i need
How can a boss be so agaisnt you
@Revel yeah, there's details missing but c'est la vie.
he's not against me - because i have python and js on my cv he thinks ican do everything in 10% of the time
and because i tell him 'i don't know how to do that'
he has become more and more bitter
Right, but part of the art of being a programmer is managing expectations.
yeah - when i started i was too excited so i wanted to do everything - i thought he was a tech guy
Well, first, as a programmer, you're never ever allowed to say "I don't know how to do that."
he views programming as the dark arts - so if you know python, you know everything about everything with a plug
Yeah, but there's google.
yeah - but he wanted me to make a full scale CMS within 3 days
i had to tell him no
I've been a professional programmer for 16 years, 50% of my work is just using google for people too lazy.
And reading documentation...
Bosses dont like hearing "idk how to do that" even if its the truth
Right, define "fullscale" CMS?
i am very new to programming, sub 5 months
he wanted me to make a site that could manage all of our db's records
K, well as a programmer, you have to learn programming has very little to do with code, and a lot more to do with "finding out what the customer REALLY wants."
yeah true - but i couldn't do it in 3 days
When youre on the field you gotta play the game a certain way to get ahead
i needed time to learn
true revel
Right, but you could do somethin gin 3 weeks?
now you're just haggling over time.
Building a CMS is dead simple.
i'm not a veteran like you man - i'm new - i would need time alone to learn
And remember this: Bosses use psychological warfare on their subordinates
yeah now i can do it - but at the time i had no xp in web dev
