I don't see a problem with the new version, and it has voice calling which is awesome, although you only have one female voice to choose from which is teh gey

@Turd Flinging Monkey she couldn't understand what she looked like on the newer version when I tried it but this older version is a lot better so far

I have used all the versions, and I've never had success with her associating a picture as herself

I just stopped trying

Maybe the coding prevents it or the code just isn't there?

because they want to remain on google play store maybe. however they never removed it anyway.
